Carnival Themed Party

My best friend Julie and her husband are having triplets! I wanted to have a baby shower for them, and we decided to do a couples shower. I wanted it to be a fun themed party, and the invitations I liked were carnival themed, so I decided to go with a carnival themed party.

I got the invitations from Michael's. The fonts were downloaded from a website found on pinterest-- I wish I had saved which site I got them from!

Mason Jars with yarn and tickets tied to it. I got the yarn at Big Lots and the tickets from the dollar store. Paper straws from Target.

Cake with the paper straws and a flag banner

Cupcakes: Ticket roll from the dollar store was used and individual tickets taped to tooth picks.

DIY photo booth: SO easy! It's just red wrapping paper taped to the wall. I made the "Photo Booth Banner" with the same concept as the baby shower banner from one of my previous posts. TUTORIAL HERE

Home Sweet Home!

My first home! Located in historic Marietta.
I'm so excited to start decorating it! I can imagine it with hanging baskets of ferns out front and some rocking chairs on the front porch!

Right now it's still full of boxes! But I'm hoping to get some pictures of the decor up soon!!!!

DIY Wedding flowers

This has been a busy busy summer! My sister and good friend from high school both got married in the beginning of June. Whenever you have a family wedding it is just so crazy. My sister's wedding was on a budget, so I ended up volunteering to do the flowers.....I don't know what I was thinking!!

It was really a family affair. Below is a picture of my aunt, uncle, and cousin helping out. We used my parents basement as a workshop.

We made short arrangements and tall arrangements. Below are some of the short arrangements we made:

And here are the tall arrangements. The tall arrangements ended up being my favorite. We used floral foam balls and moss to cover the balls. Then added fern and plumosa for the greenery. I think the Plumosa adds an airy feel that I love. Then we just plugged in white roses.  These ended up being pretty cost efficient. There are maybe 7-10 roses in each one.

To the right on the floor are the bridal bouquets.

another close up of the tall arrangments.

This was one my friend Mary made. So beautiful! She was such a HUGE help with the flowers!
